On November 15th, the Luxembourg Finance Innovation Summit celebrated its 10th anniversary with more than 250 professionals. First, a series of conference was organized, focusing notably on the evolution and transformation of finance, but also on the challenges and opportunities offered by the advent of Artificial Intelligence. During the event, the Luxembourg Finance Awards were also distributed, recognizing the best practices and solutions available on the market.
First, Frank Roessig (Head of Digital Solutions for Finance, Telindus) took the stage to announce the name of the company which was named FinTech Solution of the Year: MyBucks took the trophy home for its solution "Haraka", an app to approve and disburse quick unsecured nanoloans using mobile phone and social media data only.
The RegTech Innovation of the Year award then went to ume. The startup aims at filling the due diligence gap with a different and innovative approach. It notably specializes in KYD (Know Your Distributor).
Finologee was named Finance Startup of the Year. The company aims at simplifying financial environments, processes and models by providing secure and seamless digital experiences. Their products and services are linked to KYC, payments and messaging.
The organizers then welcomed Michael Diet (Director, Intensum), who had the pleasure to hand the Outstanding Contribution to the Financial Center of Luxembourg prize over to the LHoFT (Luxembourg House of Financial Technology). According to the LHoFT, "you need one person to change a company, one team to change an industry but you need an entire community to change a country".
François Masquelier (Treasurer, RTL GROUP – Chairman, ATEL - Vice-Chairman, EACT) welcomed Benjamin Defays on stage, recognizing him with a special jury for his Outstanding Contribution to the Treasury Community. The winner of this award was chosen by the ATEL’s board members.
Finally, the prize of Finance Team of the Year was awarded to RBC Investor & Treasury Services. The jury members highlighted the team's hard work to set up new tools in order to benefit from better and new financial accounting and reporting systems.
The event ended with the traditional networking cocktail and 10th anniversary celebrations, allowing finance professionals to further discuss the latest trends of the sector.
