BNP Paribas Asset Management was the runner-up in the “Best Green & Sustainable Initiative” category in this year’s Luxembourg Finance Awards.  This is a great recognition of the way we invest to help shape the world around us by systematically and explicitly integrating ESG factors into our investment processes. Supporting non-profit organizations is one of the company’s aims within the “S” of ESG.

As part of a solidarity campaign set up by BNP Paribas Asset Management and BGL BNP Paribas to support those hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, a cheque was presented to non-profit organisation Stëmm vun der Strooss on 13 January 2021 at the bank’s head office. This grant is now helping to fund a new social and professional reintegration programme in Sanem, including two therapy workshops, employing 90 people, up from 50 previously. The project also aims to combat food waste by recovering 500 tonnes of food still fit for consumption, in order to prepare meals for those most in need.

A part of this joint initiative, BNP Paribas Asset Management and BGL BNP Paribas made a commitment to donate EUR 0.50 to Stëmm vun der Strooss for every EUR 1,000 invested in the BNP Paribas Healthcare Innovators, BNP Paribas Disruptive Technology and Generalpart 1 World Sustainable funds.

BNP Paribas Asset Management offered to finance this donation on behalf of three of its green and sustainable funds. BNP Paribas Healthcare Innovators and BNP Paribas Disruptive Technology are responding to the Covid-19 situation, and by investing in health care companies that develop medical solutions and technology that creates innovative solutions, we are helping the world of tomorrow. Generalpart World Sustainable is responding in a more global way to the current challenges though the diversification of its sustainable assets. Choosing the Generalpart 1 World Sustainable fund means saving meaningfully via socially responsible investments in companies that implement good environmental and social practices, while respecting the principles of corporate governance.

This campaign has provided an opportunity to help improve the lives of people in difficult situations. By donating to Stëmm vun der Strooss, we are not only promoting sustainability, but doing something about it. Thanks to the generosity of our investors, we continue to improve the world around us. We would like to thank the jury of the Luxembourg Finance Awards for having selected our project, and by doing so recognizing the work of all the people involved to make this solidarity campaign a success.
