Several rating agencies such as Moody's and Standard and Poor (S&P) have confirmed Luxembourg's AAA rating with a stable outlook.

Indeed, after confirmation of this credit rating on 13 March 2020, S&P attested to Luxembourg's economic and financial stability, even in this period of crisis marked by the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic; as did Moody's, which underlined Luxembourg's sustained growth, robust institutional framework and forward-looking economic policy.

According to S&P's analyses, Luxembourg has the necessary means to meet the economic challenge resulting from the coronavirus, even if the situation deteriorates.

In the long and medium term, the economic impact is expected to remain limited and the healthy economic growth that has developed is expected to remain unchanged.

Luxembourg continues to benefit from the best ratings from the main rating agencies: S&P, Moody's and Fitch. It is one of the eleven countries in the world with an AAA rating.
