On November 11th, Quintet Private Bank – headquartered in Luxembourg and operating in 50 European cities, including Copenhagen – announced that it will shortly open a second office in Denmark as part of its long-term Nordic expansion strategy. The firm’s activities in Denmark’s second-largest city will be led by Jacob Meincke, who was recently appointed Market Head, Aarhus, at Quintet.

One year after Quintet Denmark launched activities from Copenhagen, Meincke is now in the process of building a team of client advisors in Aarhus, who will work closely with Quintet colleagues in the Danish capital and across Europe. Quintet’s Aarhus office is expected to open in early 2022, after Meincke has established his initial team.

Quintet Denmark currently counts 12 staff in Copenhagen. Over time, Quintet intends to expand its branch network to neighboring Nordic markets such as Sweden and Finland.

Meincke – whose 20-year career has been divided between Denmark’s two largest cities – most recently served as Head of Investments & Holistic Wealth Advice at Danske Bank, where he was earlier Head of Private Banking Elite. He previously served at Jyske Bank, where he led a team responsible for client activity in Eastern Jutland.

In parallel, Quintet announced the appointment of Mads Midtgaard as Market Head, Nordic International, based in Luxembourg. In coordination with Quintet colleagues in Denmark, Midtgaard will lead a five-member team to drive the ongoing growth of the firm’s Nordic International business from the Grand Duchy, serving Nordic-domiciled clients and expatriates in Europe.

Midtgaard was most recently Associate Director - Team Leader at Danske Bank International in Luxembourg, where he led a team of client advisors focused on meeting the needs of (U)HNWI Nordic clients resident abroad. Across a quarter century at Danske Bank in Copenhagen and the Grand Duchy, he has acquired deep insight into cross-border investment and wealth planning strategies, including inheritance.

Joining Midtgaard on the Nordic International team at Quintet Luxembourg is Johan Karlsson, who has been appointed Team Leader, Sweden. A Swedish national with over 15 years of industry experience in his home country, Switzerland and the Grand Duchy, Karlsson most recently served as Vice President, UHNW Nordics, at J.P. Morgan in Luxembourg. Earlier, he was Director, UHNW Nordic Markets, at UBS Wealth Management in Luxembourg.

“Following the successful implementation of the first phase of our long-term Nordics strategy – including launching our Nordic International business in Luxembourg and opening a branch in Copenhagen – I am delighted to welcome Jacob, Mads and Johan to our growing Nordic team,” said Ole Jensby, CEO, Nordics, at Quintet.

“Together with our colleagues in Denmark and the Grand Duchy, we will further accelerate the growth of our Nordic business – extending our highly personalized approach to wealth management to a region where independent thinking and entrepreneurship is part of the DNA.”
